So I went down to Paris for the weekend...

Yes, I can now actually start sentences like that.

Last Monday at FHE one of the girls in YSA asked if anyone wanted to go to Paris for the weekend. I had nothing better to do, so why not? We went with a travel group on base so we took a bus down and stayed in a decent hotel for a night, all for about $250. That also included a dinner and entrance fees to all the places we went. And we went A LOT of places.

We left at 6am Sat morning and it takes about 4 hours to get to Paris from here, toured all day Saturday, most of Sunday, and got back Sun night.

This is Stefan, our tour guide. He was Awesome. And we're pretty sure we were his favorites. We were those people on the bus that everyone knows. Not sure if that's a good thing or not...

Our first stop was Notre Dame

Followed by a stop to get some good pics of the Eiffel Tower

Then the Arch of Triumph

Then The Opera House

After that we went back to our hotel for an hour or so. I forgot to take pics of it.
Then we went to dinner at a little restaraunt. Ariana ordered es cargou (sp?) So I figured I'm in France, I'd might as well try one. (Wingman, you should be proud)

After dinner we stopped here. I think it's where Napoleon is/was buried...or something along those lines

Ya, we were a little crazy. We took more "action" shots, but they're all on Ariana's camera so I'll have to post them later.

That night we went on a cruise up the Sein River.

The next day we started out going to Katherine's (I think) garden and palace.

After that we went to the Eiffel tower and rode it all the way up to the top.

After that we went to the Louvre for a few hours. We saw the Mona Lisa and a bunch of statues and things, and the Egypt section, but we just barely scratched the surface.

This was my favorite statue that we saw

After that we left Paris. But we stopped here on the way back. It is not Notre Dame again. It's actually the Reims Cathedral. All the King of France Coronations have been here.

All of it was so cool. There were a bunch of other little stops we made at churches and things but I can't remember what they're called so I didn't put them all up here. I loved getting to see so much stuff. I just wish we had had more time! Guess I'll just have to go back.
