London Day 1

For those of you who didn't know - I decided to take a trip to London for a few days. I decided to blog each day individually instead of wait til the end of the trip and do one giant one :)

We flew out of Germany at 6:30am. It was snowing when we got here, plus morning traffic, so it took us about 2 hours to get from the airport to our hostel. We're staying in a YHA hostel right in central London. It's awesome. For a hostel it's really great. It was cheap and it's clean, and friendly, etc. If you ever come to London I highly recommend it.




After we got checked in and what not, we bought some tube passes and started exploring places. We first ended up at Green Park and Buckingham Palace.








After seeing the Palace we headed towards Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery. That's just a museum with a lot of paintings. I'm not a huge art buff, but it's kinda cool to see some paintings in real life you've only seen in books.



Last night we went to see Les Mis at the Queens theater. We were up in front row of the very top balcony. The seats were surprisingly high so it was kind of like watching the play from up on a rooftop or something, but it was still incredibly good.
We stopped and ate at a really good little Chinese buffet. I didn't take my camera with me at the time so I didn't get any night pictures, but we're going downtown again tonight or tomorrow so I'll get some then.
